Surflight Theatre is going to the dogs this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8 and 9. That’s because the kids of Beach Haven Elementary School will be performing “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS,” an abbreviated stage version of the classic 1961 animated film, at 2:30 p.m. both days.
Surflight Producing Artistic Director Steven Steiner said the theater provided the Beach Haven School not only with a comfortable professional venue, but also with a director and choreographer.
“They’ve been rehearsing for several weeks,” he said.
All seems safe and cozy in the London home of Roger and Anita and their dogs Pongo and Perdita, although it is getting rather crowded thanks to the birth of Perdita’s adorable puppies. But things are about to get complicated by one of Disney’s most memorable villains, Cruella De Vil, who sends her henchmen in the dark of night to steal the pups. Why? She wants a fur coat, a dalmatian coat!
Don’t worry, the dogs of London aren’t about to let that happen!
Admission to the shows is free, although donations to the Beach Haven PTA would be appreciated.
