Not all local history is pleasant nostalgia,. Murder and suicide are age-old problems, and no community can escape them. On three nights, Oct. 4, 18 and 25 (weather permitting), the Tuckerton Historical Society reenacts a few troubling chapters in its history during a historic ghost walk: “The Last Call at the Union House Tavern.”
The tours leave the Little Borough Hall, 220 South Green St., at 7 p.m., traveling to the scene of a murder, two church yards to meet historical ghosts, the Friends Meeting House and the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse. The cost is $5 for society members, $10 for nonmembers.
Reservations are required as there is a maximum of 20 warm bodies each night. Call 856-630-8899 to reserve your spot.
