Barnegat Light, NJ — In Barnegat Light, Monday is for music. Like a beacon, like the lighthouse, the evening bands draw everybody to the bayside at West Sixth Street, townspeople and vacationers side by side.
There is some streetside parking if you drive, and many of all ages walk or ride their bikes.
The venue is the new Bay Breeze Park Pavilion, a lawn-fronted, open-air building in view of the bay and the active Coast Guard station on Bayview Avenue between West Fifth and Sixth streets.
The music starts at 7 p.m., but it’s informal here for coming and going anytime. Bring your own chairs or blankets. Concerts are rain or shine and will be cancelled only in the event of severe weather, say organizers for the borough.
The concerts started July 8 and encompass different styles of music each week. The rest of the schedule is this: July 15, No Discipline; July 22, The Kootz Band; July 29, Razorbacks; Aug. 5, The Impulsives; Aug. 12, Verdict; Aug. 19, Bullzeye; Aug. 26, The Danksters.
