Musical Humor Featured at LBI Library Jan. 16

The Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City will host “Humor Through Music with Pete Grigis” on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m. Grigis, who will combine piano playing and comedy in the interactive program, is a retired accounting/computer teacher. He said the theme of his show is finding comedy in everyday situations as well as explaining the psychological ramifications of what makes people laugh.

“If you go to the store, it won’t be long before you find something that makes you laugh,” said Grigis, who provides piano music at the Tuckerton Beach Grille in Tuckerton on Saturday nights.

He lives in the Cranberry Creek adult community in Little Egg Harbor Township.

“Living in the senior community is a good source for jokes,” he said. “But all my humor is clean. I’m not out to offend anybody.”

Aside from sharing his jokes, participants will be encouraged to compose their own jokes. Grigis will also demonstrate how to be funny at the piano.

To register, call the branch at 609-494-2480.
