Make Use of Southern Regional Events and Gather Gifts for the Holidays

The holiday season is in full swing at Southern Regional High School, and several upcoming events are sure to give you some holiday cheer as well as the opportunity to gather some Christmas gifts for all those on your shopping list.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Southern Regional Band Parents Organization hosts the 27th annual Golden Rams Gift Auction in the middle school cafetorium. Admission is $8 at the door and includes 25 tickets, coffee and dessert. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the last call for tickets is between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Only adults 18 and older are permitted to enter. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and a 50/50 raffle will be drawn at the end of the evening.

Also that day, parents can have some time to themselves to get some holiday-related things done when Southern Regional High School’s Future Educators of America hosts Parents Day Out from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the 11/12 school cafeteria. Parents Day Out is a time in which children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy crafts, games, cooking, gym time and more in a fun atmosphere. The fees are $15 per child with a maximum of $30 per family. Registration forms are located on Southern Regional website, srsd.net, and by scrolling down under “Latest Information.” For more information, contact Catherine Latshaw at clatshaw@srsd.net.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Home and School Association hosts its annual Craft and Vendor Fair in the middle school cafetorium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the fair, Christmas shoppers can purchase gifts from a variety of crafters and vendors as well as enjoy some refreshments. Proceeds from concession sales and vendor fees benefit the Home and School Association, which consists of parents, faculty and administrators focused on benefiting all of the students at Southern through class funding, mini grants for teachers and student scholarships.
