LBI Library Hosts Volunteer Fair Jan. 20

Surf City, NJ — Are you retired, but still have a lot to give? Find the right volunteer opportunity for you at this volunteer fair being held in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 20, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Island Library, several local nonprofit groups will make short presentations about the work they do and the kinds of help they need.

“We’ve had first aid squads, fire companies, Friends of the Animal Shelter and the St. Francis Center represented in the past,” said Bernadette Callanan, Friends president.

Also on that day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., all are invited to drop in and add their dreams to the branch community bulletin board celebrating dreams for ourselves, families and the world.

For more information, call the branch at 609-494-2480.
