LBI Library Exhibits Children’s Art Work This Month

Throughout the year, the Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City hosts art shows and receptions. But this month, the branch will be offering something different – an exhibit featuring the works of students from the Ethel A. Jacobsen Elementary School and the LBI Grade School. The display will feature more than 50 creations.

A reception is planned on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

“Student artists, families, teachers and community members are invited to stop by and celebrate our young artists,” said children’s librarian Kristen Crepezzi. “I know we will do several exhibits for adults during the year, but I thought it would be fun to have one specially for the children. At the reception, the kids probably aren’t going to talk about their works like you would find at an adult program, but I think this might make them feel special.”

Helping coordinate the exhibit is LBI district art teacher Lisa Benjamin.
