Join Naturalist at Bonnet Island for Walk Dec. 12

Join Bass River State Forest’s volunteer Master Naturalist Kathy Gardiner for a field trip to Bonnet Island in Manahawkin. This is a bird-watching event on the new Cedar Bonnet Island Environmental Trail and also Barnegat Lighthouse State Park on Wednesday, Dec. 12, starting at 9 a.m. Meet at the new Cedar Bonnet parking area pull-off on the Causeway. This part of Bonnet Island is a section of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. After the guided walk, the group can head over to Barnegat Lighthouse to search for the Harlequin duck. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. Lunch at a restaurant on LBI is also planned.
