Long Beach Township — Long Beach Island residents are invited to attend a community outreach session on Saturday, Oct. 5, for assistance with flood insurance. The event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Long Beach Township Municipal Building, is sponsored by F.R.E. Flood Risk Evaluator, a component of New Jersey-based foundation flood vents manufacturer Smart Vent.
“Whether you are confused about coverage options or FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) regulations/requirements, in just one free session, our professionals can offer you the guidance you need with on-the-spot mitigation reporting and flood insurance premium information,” the company explains.
Opening remarks, from 11 to 11:30 a.m., will include a summary of changes to the National Flood Insurance Program and new laws that will potentially affect policies, as well as a discussion of mitigation steps to reduce flood insurance premiums.
An elevation certificate review Q & A session will begin at 11:30 a.m., and attendees will have the opportunity to sit one-on-one with a certified floodplain manager to review their current elevation certificate and flood insurance policy.
The session will then be opened up for questions.
Reserve a spot by visiting 2019longbeachoutreach.eventbrite.com, or call 866-599-7065.
If available, homeowners should bring their elevation certificate and current flood insurance policy. Or email the elevation certificate and flood insurance declaration page to email@example.com to have a complimentary F.R.E. flood risk evaluation report waiting at the event.
The Long Beach Township Municipal Building is located at 6805 Long Beach Blvd. in Brant Beach.
