Enjoy Music in View of the Lighthouse: Barnegat Light Summer Sounds Schedule

Live music adds one more unforgettable note to the sights and sounds of Barnegat Light. The schedule below lists the bands that are coming to the outdoor venues during the rest of the summer.

Events listed at the Eighth Street bayfront gazebo will move two blocks north to the new pavilion under final construction at Sixth Street and Bayview Avenue. As of July 1, a couple weeks’ worth of finishing touches remained, a borough spokesperson estimated.

Concert-goers may want to bring their own blankets and chairs; there is some seating, but that fills up when the music starts. Other friends and neighbors are fine with standing to catch up easier with other friends who stroll in from the neighborhood. It’s a relaxed vibe up here.

Saturday, July 7 – The Liberty Band plays patriotic tunes after the parade that starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at the bayfront gazebo.

Monday, July 9 – The Following, 7 p.m., gazebo. Rock music by a local Barnegat Light band.

Monday, July 16 – The Danksters, 7 p.m., gazebo or pavilion. “A collection of great musicians who formed a band on Long Beach Island in 2005. They play an eclectic mix of all genres,” describes the borough calendar of events.

Saturday, July 21 – Treble Makers, 7 p.m., gazebo or pavilion. Members from this outreach troupe of Our Gang Players are coming home to Barnegat Light to perform show tunes.

Monday, July 23 – The Kootz, 7 p.m., gazebo or pavilion. “A group of Jersey-guys and their friends who just can’t seem to retire their guitars, and likely never will,” says their bio. They have a passion for classic rock, pop, soul, blues.

Saturday, July 28 – concert at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, 7 to 9 p.m. Enjoy a concert outside the gazebo next to the inlet, with a backdrop of the lighthouse, which will be open for a night climb.

Monday, July 30 – The Lighthouse Band, 7 p.m., gazebo or pavilion. Classic rock to bring back memories.
