Beach Haven Future, a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing business in Beach Haven, is holding its third annual seafood festival on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bay Village ball field.
“It is all about Beach Haven and attracting people to our business district and bringing revenue to our local shop owners in the shoulder seasons,” said event coordinator Sally Volpe. “There is no admission fee. You pay for your food as you go along.”
Numerous area restaurants will be offering a wide sample of menu items. Buckalew’s Restaurant and Tavern’s offerings include sushi, grilled lobster platter and jumbo fried clam strips. Howard’s Restaurant will be serving French fried lobster. Carmen’s will be offering crab cakes, scallops wrapped in bacon and sausage, peppers and onion. Biggy’s Beach Grill will offer coconut shrimp and tuna tacos, while Bistro 14 will be setting up an oyster bar.
The Gazebo Grill will have shrimp kabobs, shrimp bowls and clams on the half shell. Tuckers Tavern is offering spicy nachos. Country Kettle Chowda is serving lobster bisque, red and white clam chowder and chili. Panzone’s Pizza and Pasta has cheese steaks and pizza. The Woo-Hoo has homemade ice cream as well as blackened mahi mahi sandwiches.
Crust and Crumb will have a wide variety of pastries, including elephant ears.
There will also be live entertainment as Funk Shway plays from 3 to 6 and Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns from 6 to 9.
“We’re also hoping to get many retail vendors,” said Volpe.
